ENGLISH GRAMMAR IN USE といえば、ケンブリッジ大学出版が出版している英語版の文法書で、歴史が長く今では日本でも定番となっています。
購入する前に本屋で目を通し内容を確認してから購入したいものです。
ここでは、English GRAMMAR IN USEの内容を簡単にご案内したいと思います。

どのようなテキスト?
文法のテーマごとに見開きで解説と練習問題があります。
・左側のページに 文法の解説
・右側の頁に練習問題
といった構成になっており、それぞれの文法テーマについて解説がされています。
(目次で構成内容はご確認いただけます。下記参照)
解説はカラーとなった会話の舞台となる場面のイメージが絵で示され、時制などは過去から未来の図を使ってどのあたりを示す使う表現かを体感的に分かりやすく解説しています。
本編より一部を紹介させて頂きます。サンプルイメージは現在完了進行形の解説です。
テキストの種類とレベル
English GRAMMAR IN USE には複数種類ありますので、購入時に気をつけましょう。
基本的に中級レベルの読者を想定しています。日本では個人差がありますが高校、大学レベルでしょうか。バージョンの違いはCD-ROMがあるかないかと新しく発売されたeBookバージョンとなります。ここに記載していませんが、授業用に解答のついていないタイプも販売されています。
